Airline Overview
The country's flag carrier and largest airline, South African Airways (SA) was founded in 1934. It also owns low-cost domestic airline Mango (JE). South African Airways operates from a hub at OR Tambo International Airport (JNB) and has designated Cape Town International Airport (CPT) and King Shaka International Airport (DUR) as focus cities. The carrier flies to more than 40 destinations, of which five are domestic. International destinations span Africa, Europe, Asia, Oceania, North America and South America. A member of the Star Alliance, South Africa Airways also has codeshare agreements with 17 non-alliance airlines. Its fleet of 60 passenger planes are each configured with a Business Class and Economy Class cabin.
