Hong Kong Airlines (HX) allows 1 personal item (purse, briefcase, laptop bag) per passenger fee free, as well as 1 piece of carry-on luggage for Economy Class passengers and 2 pieces for Business Class passengers.
Carry-on should not exceed the following size and weight restrictions:
- 45 linear inches (22 x 14 x 9 in) or 115 centimeters (56 x 36 x 23 cm) including handles and wheels
- 7 kg or 15 pounds
NOTE: Bulkhead seats do not have under seat storage, therefore, all carry-on baggage must be stowed in the overhead bin during take-off and landing.

Hong Kong Airlines' (HX) standard checked baggage / hold luggage policy is two pieces of baggage, each not exceeding 62 in/158 cm of length, width and height, and each not exceeding 50 lb for Economy Class passengers and 70 lb for Business Class passengers. Platinum, Gold and Silver Fortune Wings Club members get an extra allowance of 1 piece of luggage fitting the restrictions for their class set above. This is applicable on the following routes:
- Between Hong Kong and Saipan, Canada, the United States, Australia, or New Zealand
- Between Area 3 and Saipan, Canada, the United States, Australia, or New Zealand via Hong Kong
- Within Australia and New Zealand
On all other flights, Economy Class passengers have a limit of 20 kg of checked luggage and Business Class passengers have a limit of 30 kg of checked luggage. Platinum and Gold Fortune Wings Club members get an extra allowance of 30 kg in both classes, and Silber Fortune Wings members get an extra allowance of 20 kg in both classes. No single piece of luggage should exceed 32 kg and 62 in/158 cm of length, width and height.

Hong Kong Airlines (HX) will charge the following fees for any bags between 62-80 inches on flights between Hong Kong and Saipan, Canada, the United States, Australia, or New Zealand:
- $200 USD for a bag that is no more than 50 lb
- $250 USD for a bag that is between 50 lb and 70 lb
Are there fees for sports equipment on Hong Kong Airlines (HX)?
Sports equipment is subject to standard baggage fees in excess of your free baggage allowance. However a free bicycle allowance for one bicycle of no more than 25 kg on flights between Australia, New Zealand, Taiwan, Japan, and Hainan. Passengers may contact the Hong Kong Airlines Call Center at least 48 hours prior to departure to reserve this service.
