Checked Baggage Allowance
Piece Concept
Piece concept is now applicable throughout the entire TAP Portugal network. In this concept, the following free baggage allowance is permitted:
- TAP Executive: 2 pieces up to 70.5 lb/32 kg
- TAP Plus, TAP Classic, TAP Basic, and TAP Discount: 2 Pieces up to 50 lb/23 kg
- 1 piece (50 lb/23 kg) within Europe (including Morocco and Algeria), and between Europe and USA/Canada
- 2 pieces (70.6 lb/32 kg) between Europe and Brazil (Beechcraft flights only up to 50 lb/23 kg)
Each bag must adhere to the following size requirements:
- Maximum Dimensions: 62 linear inches/158 cm (length + width + height)
*For flights departing from Brazil, passengers in both Executive and Economy class may bring 2 pieces of luggage, 70 lb/32 kg each.
Children under 2 years of age, not occupying a seat are allowed 1 piece of luggage up to 22 lb/10 kg.
Weight Concept
- TAP Executive: 66 lb/30 kg
- TAP Plus, TAP Classic, TAP Basic, and TAP Discount: 44 lb/20 kg

Victoria Gold:
- 1 extra piece for flights using piece concept
- 44 lb/20 kg extra for flights using weight concept
Victoria Silver:
- 1 extra piece for flights using piece concept
- 33 lb/15 kg extra for flights using weight concept

Sports Equipment
Some checked items, such as surfboards and bicycles will be charged a fixed handling fee because of size, fragility, or other handling requirements while others may be checked in lieu of one of your checked bags. If you plan to travel with sporting equipment, contact TAP Portugal directly to confirm packing regulations and fees or visit their Special Baggage Information Page.
CPAP Devices:
Passengers who need to travel with a POC or CPAP machine (for treatment of sleep apnea) can carry them on board TAP flights.
