Checked Baggage Allowance
SAS has revamped its domestic and European service classes, replacing the Economy, Economy Extra and Business with two new products: SAS Go and SAS Plus. The new services came into effect on June 2013. The main difference regarding baggage allowance is that passengers traveling with the SAS Plus service are allowed one additional checked-in luggage for free, as long as it meets the requirements mentioned bellow.
The number of bags and maximum weight allowed depends on what type of ticket you have paid for. You can see how much baggage you can take for free here:
Ticket type |
Weight |
Dimension |
SAS Go |
1 baggage x 50 lb/23 kg |
62 in/158 cm |
SAS Plus |
2 baggage x 50 lb/23 kg |
62 in/158 cm |
SAS Business |
2 baggage x 50 lb/23 kg |
62 in/158 cm |
When traveling with SAS, you are always allowed to bring at least one piece of checked baggage for free. The same baggage rules applies regardless of where you are travelling to.
A baggage tag is attached to checked baggage, available at check-in either at the counter or at a kiosk, even if you have checked in through another means. SAS also recommends that passengers always fill out a label with their name and address and put it on their baggage. Labels can be found in the departure hall and at the counter.
Sports Equipment
Some checked items, such as surfboards and bicycles will be charged a fixed handling fee because of size, fragility, or other handling requirements. Contact SAS directly for more information.
