Airline Overview
Founded in 1996, WestJet (WS) is the second-largest carrier in Canada. It operates from hubs at Calgary International Airport (YYC), Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) and Vancouver International Airport (YVR). Edmonton International Airport (YEG), Halifax Stanfield International Airport (YHZ) and Winnipeg James Armstrong Richardson International Airport (YWG) are focus cities. It also has a subsidiary, WestJet Encore (WR). Including Encore flights, the airline flies to about 107 destinations in the United States, Mexico, the Caribbean, Central America and Europe. The airline also has codeshare agreements with 16 other carriers. Its fleet of 174 planes consists of Boeing 737 variants and Boeing 767s, as well as Bombardier Dash 8 Q400 NextGen operated by WestJet Encore.
