Carry-On Allowance:
All carry-on luggage must fit in the overhead bin or under the seat in front of you and adhere to the following requirements:
- Baggage Allowance for Economy Class passengers: 1 bag
- Baggage Allowance for First/Business Class passengers: 2 bags
- Maximum Dimensions of Carry-on Luggage: 55cm x 40cm x 23cm (length x width x height)
- Maximum Weight of Carry-on Luggage: 18 lb/8 kg
REMINDER: Bulkhead seats do not have underseat storage during take-off and landing.

General Checked Baggage Allowance
The baggage rules for tickets issued on or after August 1st 2011 have been revised and simplified. The piece concept applies worldwide on all flights carried out by SWISS. For tickets issued before August 1st 2011 the former baggage rules apply.
Passengers traveling to/from the U.S., Canada,and Mexico:
- Baggage Allowance Economy: 1 piece
- Baggage Allowance Business: 2 pieces
- Baggae Allowance First: 3 pieces
- Maximum Weight for Economy Class passengers: 50 lb/23 kg per bag
- Maximum Weight for Business/First Class passengers: 70 lb/32 kg per bag
- Maximum Dimensions for Economy Class passengers: 62 linear inches/158 cm (length + width + height) for the first piece, but no more than 106 inches/273 cm for the two combined
- Maximum Dimensions for Business/First Class passengers: 62 linear inches/158 cm (length + width + height) per piece or 124 inches/316 cm combined

Passengers traveling in to/from Europe and some intercontinental destinations
- Baggage Allowance Economy: 1 piece

- Maximum Total Dimensions: 62 linear inches/158 cm (length + width + height)
- Maximum Weight for Business Class Passengers: 70 lb/32 kg total (per bag).
- Maximum Weight for First Class Passengers: 70 lb/32 kg (per bag).

Excess, Overweight, Oversize Baggage Fees
If you have more bags than the permitted allowance or your bags exceed the weight or linear restrictions, you will be charged additional fees. Contact Swiss Airlines directly or visit their web-site for additional Excess Baggage Rates and Information
Sports Equipment

CPAP Devices:
If you wish to bring a CPAP machine (which is used to treat sleep apnea, a condition characterized by severe snoring, among other things) into the cabin, this will need to be approved by our technical personnel. So if you plan to do so, please inform us of this in good time via the SAF/MEDIF form, giving precise details of the model to be used and its technical specifications, to enable us to provide an appropriate electrical socket. Please note that we cannot guarantee to provide such a socket on all aircraft types. The machine should preferably be battery-powered
