What is JetBlue's (B6) baggage policy?
The JetBlue (B6) baggage policy for regular basic fares include the following:
- Carry-on baggage.
- 1 personal item - Fee free
- 1 carry-on item - Fee free
- Checked baggage / Hold luggage - If checked bags are not included in the fare selected then applicable fees apply. Blue Basic, Blue, and Blue Extra fares do not cover the cost of any checked bag and increase with the number checked. Blue Plus fares include one bag. Mint fares include two bags. Fees for additional bags increase with number checked.
- Overweight and Oversize bags - Applicable fees per bag depending on weight and size categories.
- Sports equipment - Certain items might have applicable fees.
What is JetBlue's (B6) carry-on baggage policy?
JetBlue (B6) allows 1 carry-on bag and 1 personal item (purse, briefcase, laptop bag) per passenger fee free.
Carry-on should not exceed the following size and weight restrictions:
- 45 linear inches (22 x 14 x 9 in) or 115 centimeters (56 x 36 x 23 cm) including handles and wheels.
- Fit in the overhead bin or under the seat in front of you.
Personal item should not exceed the following size and weight restrictions according to flight aircraft:
- A320 and E190 aircraft: 41 linear inches (18 x 15 x 8 in) or 94 centimeters (46 x 38 x 20 cm)
- A321 aircraft: 41 linear inches (17 x 13 x 11 in) or 94 centimeters (43 x 33 x 28 cm)
- Fit in the overhead bin or under the seat in front of you
- A jacket, umbrella, diaper bag, duty free items, and assistive devices (wheelchairs, walkers, crutches, strollers, child restraint seats, etc.) do not count towards your carry-on allowance.
NOTE: Bulkhead seats do not have under seat storage, therefore, all carry-on baggage must be stowed in the overhead bin during take-off and landing.
What is JetBlue's (B6) checked baggage / hold luggage policy?
If checked bags are not included in the fare selected then applicable fees apply. Blue fares do not cover the cost of any checked bag and increase with the number checked. Blue Plus fares include one bag. Blue Flex fares include two bags. Fees for additional bags increase with number checked.
- Maximum dimensions: 62 inches or 157 centimeters (length + width + height)
- Maximum weight: 50 pounds or 23 kilograms
Are there fees for baggage on JetBlue (B6)?
Yes, fees might apply. They are determined by the type of fare you purchased, your destination, if you are an active U S military personnel and/or dependent, or if you have Mosaic status with JetBlue's (B6) TrueBlue program.
JetBlue's (B6) standard checked baggage / hold luggage fees for all flights follow [effective 1.16.2020]:p>
- First bag (Blue Basic, Blue, and Blue Extra fares): $35.00 USD
- Second bag (Blue Basic, Blue, Blue Plus, and Blue Extra fares): $45.00 USD
- Third bag and additional bags (Blue Basic, Blue, Blue Plus, Blue Extra, and Mint fares): $150.00 USD
NOTE: You may add up to 2 checked bags, prepay in advance online (more than 24 hours before departure) and receive $5 off the cost of each of the first 2 checked bags.
What is JetBlue's (B6) fee for excess baggage?
JetBlue (B6) will charge $150.00 USD for the third bag and any additional bag.
Note: Passengers traveling to/from the Dominican Republic, Haiti, Peru, or Trinidad and Tobago are limited to two checked bags. Passengers traveling to/from Cuba are limited to five checked bags
What is JetBlue's (B6) fee for overweight baggage?
JetBlue (B6) will charge the following for bags that are greater than the standard 50 pounds or 23 kilograms:
- 51 to 99 pounds or 24 to 45 kilograms: $150.00 USD extra per bag
- Bags 100 pounds or 46 kilograms or greater will not be accepted as checked baggage / hold luggage.
- Bags exceeding 100 pounds or 46 kilograms will not be accepted as checked baggage / hold luggage.
- Bags over 50 pounds will not be accepted on flights to/from Dominican Republic, Haiti, and Trinidad and Tobago.
- Bags over 70 pounds will not be accepted on flights to/from Lima, Peru.
What is JetBlue's (B6) fee for oversize baggage?
JetBlue (B6) will charge $150.00 USD extra for bags that are from 63 to 80 linear inches or from 158 to 203 centimeters. Bags greater than 80 linear inches or 158 centimeters will not be accepted as checked baggage / hold luggage.
NOTE: Passengers traveling to/from the Dominican Republic, Haiti, Peru, or Trinidad and Tobago are not permitted to check oversize baggage.
Are there fees for sports equipment on JetBlue (B6)?
Sports equipment such as skis, golf bags, fishing equipment, hockey, and lacrosse equipment will be accepted up to JetBlue's (B6) size and weight limits and will count as one checked bag/hold bag. Associated fees might be applied.
CPAP Devices:
CPAP machines may be carried and used on board JetBlue, in accordance with specific FAA guidelines. Please note some of our aircraft have in-seat electrical power, but it is not available for ventilators, respirators, BiPAP or CPAP machines. Ventilators, respirators and CPAP machines are considered assistive devices. They must be stowed and used in the cabin consistent with applicable TSA, FAA and other regulations governing carry-on bags.
