Checked Baggage Allowance

Frequent flyers traveling on flights operated by Gulf Air receive an automatic extra baggage allowance over and above the allowance shown on the ticket. Extra baggage allowance:
- Silver frequent flyer: 33 lb/15 kg
- Gold frequent flyer: 44 lb/20 kg
- Black frequent flyer: 55 lb/25 kg
As per IATA regulations, no single piece of baggage may weigh more than 70 lb/32 kg.
Codeshare Flights
For passengers traveling on a codeshare service operated by American Airlines to/from the USA or Canada, a piece concept exists.
Falcon Gold Business Class
- Checked Baggage Allowance: 2 pieces
- Maximum Dimensions of each piece: 62 linear inches/158 cm (length + width + height)
- Maximum Weigh of each piece: 70 lb/32 kg
Economy Class
- Checked Baggage Allowance: 2 pieces
- Maximum Combined Dimensions of both pieces: 107 linear inches/273cm (length + width + height)
- Maximum Weigh of each piece: 50 lb/23 kg
*Any bag weighing more than 50 lb/23 kg but less than 70 lb/32 kg will incur a fee of US$ 50 per piece. Bags weighing more than 70 lb/32 kg will not be accepted.

CPAP Devices:
Gulf Air medical clearance is required for the carriage of CPAP/POC devices for any medical condition. All supporting documents must be submitted 48 hours prior to the flight in order to obtain medical clearance. Customers who use these devices for sleep apnea do not need to apply for Gulf Air medical clearance, however, they must carry a letter from their own doctor stating the need to use a CPAP/POC device.If the device is not included in the FAA approved list, it must be properly labelled by the manufacturer to reflect that it has been tested to meet FAA requirements for medical portable electronic devices or otherwise accompanied by an FAA compliance letter from the manufacturer. Contact the airline to note the FAA approved CPAP/POC devices.
