Does Air Europa allow pets in the cabin?
Yes, pets may be carried either in the cabin or as checked baggage. Dogs, cats, birds (except birds of pray), fish, aquarium tortoises, and some rodents (hamsters, guinea pigs, or small rabbits) are allowed in the cabin. Amphibians, insects, crustaceans, reptiles, other rodents, and ferrets must be carried as cargo.
Cabin Restrictions
- Only five live animals can be carried on each flight
- Animal must be at least 3 months old with necessary vaccinations
- Container cannot exceed 22 x 14 x 10 in (55 x 35 x 25 cm)
- Total weight cannot exceed 22 lb (10 kg) (including container)
- No more than 3 pets per container
- Container must fit under the seat in front
- Animal cannot be released from container under any circumstances
Cargo Restrictions
- Passengers may check a maximum of 5 animals
- Animal must be at least 3 months old with the necessary vaccinations
- Potentially dangerous dogs must wear a muzzle (Pit Bull Terrier, Staffordshire Bull Terrier, American Staffordshire Terrie,r Rottweile,r Dogo Argentino, Fila Brasileiro, Tosa Inu, Akita Inu)
- Pets must be transported in IATA approved rigid containers with a metal door, appropriate for carriage by air, with a "Live Animals" and "This side up" label
- Maximum number of pets per container is 1, though 2 may be permitted in the same container if they are of comparable size (up to 31 lb/14 kg each) and are used to cohabitating
- Maxumim of 3 animals from the same litter, up to 6 months old, can be shipped in the same container
Service Fees
Pets do not count in the standard baggage allowance. The following charges apply for each live animal:
- Domestic Flights (Peninsula and Balearic Islands): 25 euros in the cabin, 40 euros in hold
- Medium-haul Flights (Europe, Canary Islands, and Africa): 50 euros in cabin, 80 euros in hold
- Long-haul Flights: 100 euros in cabin, 160 euros in hold
Service Animals/Guide Dogs
Service animals/guide dogs are allowed on board free of charge. Passengers must notify the airline 48 hours prior to the flight with proper documentation of either blindness or deafness. Proper documentation for the service animal must also be provided.
